Dirty Republican Campaign Uses Terrorist Images To Scare Voters Over To McCain

Posted on 11 October 2008

Just yesterday I was actually praising John McCain for standing up to the hateful rhetoric that has become common place at McCain/Palin rallies.  Sen. McCain actually stood up to a woman in the audience who labeled Barack Obama an untrustworthy Arab (A Double Insult to Obama and Arab Americans ).  McCain actually corrected the woman and called for a little respect for his opponent who McCain referred to as a “Great Family Man” and “we just disagree on how to run the country“.

I had respect for McCain yesterday.  Today is a different day….

It seems that message of respect has not made it around to conservative groups and McCain supporters around the country, and now supporters are gearing up for the mother of all smear campaigns, and hateful accusation against Barack Obama.

Howard Kaloogian, Sal Russo, Deborah Johns, Lloyd Marcus, Mark Williams, Joe Wierzbicki , Kelly S. Eustis and Betty Presley, a.k.a.Our Country Deserves Better PAC, a Conservative Republican Group that claims to “tell America the truth” are on a nationwide fund raising effort to run scathing and misleading commercials in battleground states like Michigan (where the McCain campaign has pulled out and conceded defeat) , Nevada, Pennsylvania and Colorado, using carefully selected partial sound bytes, combined with inflammatory images of Terrorists and Muslim Extremist waving Automatic Riffles, while  calling Barack Obama Unpatriotic in an effort to scare voters into voting for John McCain.

In emails sent to thousand around the country through HumanEvents.com, the group solicits donations to help air the commercials in the battle ground states telling supporters that McCain/Palin only trail by 1%-1.9% in selected polls.

Not since the days when Republican Sen. Joseph McCarthy accused all of his political opponents, news reporters and average American citizens of being communist (the paranoid buzz word of the time) have we seen such rampant propaganda used with such reckless, and unsubstantiated accusations, as well as public attacks on the character and patriotism of a political opponent. It exemplifies the the disgusting tactics that the Republican Party is now known for to many Americans of “Win at all cost”.

This is the saddest and most pathetic thing that I think I have ever witnessed in American Politics. The maturity and Intelligence of the Conservative Republican Groups in this country is comparable to that of the vicious rumor circle of 14 year old girls.

Too caught up in retribution to see what they are doing to the country, Independent Republican supporters and Conservative Groups refuse to look at polls that show America’s disgust by the attack ads, and actually help to increase Obama’s lead with every reckless accusation, and smear

With yesterdays “Trooper Gate Investigation report” release, confirming that Sarah Palin did misuse the office of the Alaskan State Governor unethically, McCain supporters are taking up what ever ammo they have left to burn, and destroy everything on the way out of Dodge, probably taking any  Senators running for re-election in the 2008 election and any respect that America had for the party of Abraham Lincoln, with them.

Using images of terrorist with hidden faces, waving riffles is about as low as you can go at this time in our country, and is a direct insult to the American people.  Discussing the issues is no longer an option for the Republicans, they are on a search and destroy mission and they don’t care what carnage they leave behind if they can’t win, like a spoiled 4 year old baby.

With so many skeletons in McCain’s closet,

….You would think that the escalation of a dirty campaign would be the last thing that Republicans would do.

It would stand to reason that if you have enough bones to construct a family of “Big Foot” skeletons in your own closet , you wouldn’t want anyone coming over to your house and opening up doors .

The Hypocrisy of it all is absolutely amazing…to point out the unethical relationship of John McCain with Charles Keating of the Savings and Loan Collapse, Gordon Liddy , the mastermind of Watergate (who McCain called “a great American”), or McCain’s 2006 Investment Portfolio of Mortgage Companies (Including Fannie and Freddie, Lehman, and Merryl Lynch) and it’s a smear campaign, but suggest a tie to terrorism of all things(in the case of attack ads against Obama) , and it’s just campaigning.

They are of course too arrogant to think that anything in their past is enough to dissuade  voters from supporting America’s War Hero, and that they can keep this election about the fear of terrorism, and race.  Once again, they are wrong, and it seems Americans are smart enough to see the misdirection and insulting rhetoric.

With 70% of McCain’s T.V. ads now negative attack ads, compared to Barack Obama’s 34%, it is clear that Conservative groups have it all wrong.  Their slogan of, “Our Country Deserves better Than Barack Obama“, as a tag line on the end of the hateful ads, only serves as a reminder to American Voters that  Barack Obama is not the one trolling in the feces filled waters of the gutter to completely disrespect John McCain as a U.S. Senator, An American Veteran, and an Honored Public Servant.

The slogan should read, “Our Country Deserves Better than insulting scare tactics“…

……I wish John McCain would approve that message.

It’s called “Our Country Deserves Better PAC,” not “America Deserves Better.”
