Posted on 30 November 2008

The tribute site  hopes to preserve the legacy of Beloved Detroit Radio Personality Electrifying Mojo and his importance to the History of Detroit Music.

Las Vegas, NV Dec. 1, 2008:

4th Internet Media Group , a web publishing company,  has just launched their newest project,  MidnightFunkAssociation.com, a tribute to Detroit radio legend Charles Johnson, known to most fans as The Electrifying Mojo.

Mojo is recognized for having introduced or “broken” many artists into the Detroit radio market, including Prince, The B-52’s, and Kraftwerk , and is most widely recognized for his nightly showcase of legendary funk bands, new releases, and local Detroit artists including Detroit House and Techno Godfathers Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, and Juan Atkins, DJ Jeff Mills, and many others.

The new web site’s “roll call” is for fans of the legendary radio show to chime in, and give “shout out’s”  via email, and it will compile interviews, audio clips, and press from the show, and features information about the  bands and entertainers that were signature for the over 10 years that Johnson graced the Detroit airwaves.

Electrifying Mojo is recognized by so many artists as an influential force in Detroit music, but is even more important  to so many of us who grew up in that era.” says Harold Mansfield of 4th Internet Media Group, and a Detroit native.

“Every time I tell someone about the (radio) show, and his influence over an entire generation of music lovers in Detroit, they can’t believe that so many people actually stayed up late to listen, on week nights,  and actually flashed their headlights and honked their horns at midnight”.

The magazine style site is also will also feature news,  press and articles promoting Detroit Area Music, Nightlife, and it’s internationally recognized Dance Music, and Techno scene.  Readers, and fans alike are encouraged to send in their press, and promotions, or join the roll call, keeping in true fashion of the radio show.

A music store, powered by Amazon is loaded with complete discography’s of featured artists of the 10 year radio show, as well as, direct iTunes links in the featured artists bio’s for MP3 downloads.

“When we saw the domain (the sites web address) available, we knew that we had to secure it.”,  continues Mansfield. “The name (MFA) was being used for everything from screen names to Flicker accounts.  We didn’t want there to be any confusion to those who don’t know what it was really all about.  Everyone is invited to contribute to preserve the legacy of one of the most influential personalities in Detroit Music History”.

The site is dedicated to Charles Johnson, a.k.a. Electrifying Mojo, and the people of The City of Detroit.
