Sarah Palin A Christian Of Convenience

Tags: , ,

Governor Sarah Palin conveniently uses her religion to suit her own agenda, yet fails to follow the most fundamental principles of Christianity.

*You shall not murder*

Last week on the campaign trail Palin exhibited her pivotal fall from grace as she allowed supporters to shout hateful rhetoric against John McCain’s opponent, Barack Obama. At Palin rallies across America crowds have interjected such cruel, dangerous and unchristian like hate as “Kill Him” referring to Barack Obama, as Palin stood by only to incite the crowd more attacking Obama’s character with unfounded accusations of terrorism and injecting fear into the minds of her supporters.

Even as recent as yesterday, at a Sarah Palin rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a man in the audience grinned as he held up a stuffed monkey doll with a Barack Obama bumper sticker wrapped across its forehead.  After Palin finished her remarks, the man holding the stuffed monkey seemed to notice that a video camera was pointed at him, at which point he removed the Obama sticker from the doll’s head and crumpling it up in his hand.

Although the threats were not out of Palin’s mouth, her Christian upbringing and fundamentalist beliefs should have prompted her to stand her ground against her supporters who have such hateful vile against another Christian, and Child of God.  They did not, and she did nothing but revel in the glory of her idolization.

Surely standing by and idly listening to, and ignoring chants of murder is not a Christian belief that her fundamentalist Christian supporters believe in. Is it ?

*You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor

Palin relentlessly attempts to associate Barack Obama to  60’s radical fundamentalist Bill Ayers of The Weatherman, whom Obama served with on a charity board years ago.

Charity.

Never mind that Obama was 8 years old during Ayers membership in the group and that Palin is actually attacking Obama’s association with a charity that actually helps people, the same way she belittled community organizers at the G.O.P convention.

Given the strong community involvement of Churches across the country, including her own, The Wasilla Assembly of God, Palin again demonstrates that she is a Christian when it suits her, and that is O.K. to attack the Christian principles and actions of others.  After all, what is more Christian than helping other people ?

Conservative Republican groups have stepped up the dirty campaign tactics in the name of McCain and Palin, going so far as to actually add images of masked images of Terrorists in their commercials to insinuate that Barack Obama is friends with Terrorist  Extremist and scare Americans into voting for McCain.  The commercials also question the patriotism of a United States Senator, fellow American, and dedicated public servant with unfounded accusations, including a vote against troop funding that McCain himself voted against, because of some of the language involved in the bill, a truth that is conveniently left out of the commercials.

The Governor also conveniently side steps the issue that her husband, “first dude” Todd Palin, was a member of the Alaska Independence Party (Which she addressed during a convention just last year), A group that has been courted over the years by Sarah Palin, and one that Todd was a registered member of for roughly seven years –who’s founder Joe Vogler once professed his “hatred for the American government” and cursed the American flag as a “damn flag.”

The words of founder Joe Vogler are proudly displayed on the Alaska Independence Party’s website (at least as of this writing): “I’m an Alaskan, not an American. I’ve got no use for America and her damned institutions.

Given that one of America’s “damned institutions” is the Department of Defense, this raises a few questions about Gov. Palin’s strength on national security issues.

Talk about throwing Stones from a Glass House….Never mind that Palin at the time was Governor of The State of Alaska, and as such bound to uphold the Constitution, Flag, and Sovereignty of the Unites States of America.

*You shall not make wrongful use of the name of your God*

Sarah has repeated said that her Governorship, and the Iraq War must be the will of God.  Palin has been caught on video asking assembly members to prat for personal gain, such as $30 Billion Dollars for the Natural Gas Pipeline., and claims that the blessing of  Pastor Thomas Muthee, who claims he successfully expelled a witch from a small Kenyan town (incidentally, the country that Obama’s father is from) , propelled her into the Governors Office because it was God’s will.

Was it also the will of God that you use the Governors office to violate rules of ethics for personal gain ?

How many witches are actually mentioned in the bible Governor ?

Honor your Father and Mother

Around Wasilla there are people who went to high school with Sarah. They call her “Sarah Barracuda” because of her unbridled ambition and predatory ruthlessness.  When Sarah’s mother-in-law, a highly respected member of the community and experienced manager, ran for Mayor, Sarah refused to endorse her.

Sure, I know that was not her mother, it was Todd’s, but come on… Really ?

It seems that when Sarah Palin gets her way it’s the will of God, but she does not practice the ethical principles of Christianity if they do not suit her agenda

She has no problem defaming the character of another Christian and Child of God, if it will get her what she wants, or being a part of knowingly false, and unfounded accusations to destract voters away from the real issues.

She has no problem praying for personal gain, or specific favors from God, and instructing others to do so. Yes I know the rhetoric,  “If it is in your will then..how about a little help with this..”

As the final days of the campaign draw to an end and Barack Obama leads in just about every poll and state electoral votes, it will be interesting to see if Sarah Palin will follow the good Christian Principles of respect and honesty, or continue down the road to “take the gloves off” and attempt to win at all cost, with what is now one of the dirtiest campaigns of racial tension, unfounded accusations, and gutter politics in recent history.

I guess it is God’s will that Sarah Palin participates in dirty politics , so long as she wins, right ?

God’s will seems to be a matter of convenience for Sarah Palin.

Using the Convenience of Religion to Oppose Same Sex Marriage Law

Tags: , ,

The Last time I checked, (and I could be wrong), the recent California Ruling Allowing a legal marriage between two loved ones of the same sex was just that… Legal. Most disagreements with same sex relationships stem from religious beliefs, which has nothing to do with law, which is supposed to be separate from Religion.

We spend so much time on our own soap boxes preaching about the government staying out of our bedrooms, out of our religion, out of our business…and so it is. Federal, State, and Local Governments are governed by elected officials. Not Priests, Pastors, or Rabi’s. Religion and Law have nothing to do with each other. That is the whole point of the United States of America, and the Constitution. Oh sure, everything says . “In God we Trust“, “One Nation Under God“, and so forth, but one of the principle foundations of our laws are separation of Church and State. So those phrases don’t give any religion the right to claim laws in their name. They are not yours, they are Everybody’s! And since religion does not factor into being an American….protesters of the new law, or against Gay relationships in general, have no legal leg to stand on.

Every time there is a disagreement in this country, people conveniently stand behind religion. This has nothing to do with your religion, or anyone elses.

If the Catholic Church lifted a ban on Gay Marriage, or if Synagogues started marrying same sex couples, I could see the protest from members of the faith. But this is not religion. It’s Law. They are different!

People who throw their religions beliefs into law, do not fully understand what it means to be an American. Sure, they have the right to protest, but they do not have the right to intimidate, belittle and name call people just because they don’t follow their beliefs.

Back in the 1950’s, religion was used to protest desegregation of schools. “Christians” in those days, truly believed they had a religious leg to stand on to keep black kids from going to school with white kids, they actually said that “It was unholy”, but in reality it was just fear and racism hiding behind religion. (Of course Black people were not allowed in “White” churches…must have been the Christian way of the times).

Abortion Opponents throughout the years have traditionally used religion to oppose a Law. Right to Life they said. Some have gone so far as to Kill, in order to preserve the right to life. (and they didn’t see the irony in that, or the sin..amazing).

I think the biggest surprise and hypocrites of the whole gay marriage opposition are women. After so many years (Hundreds) of getting looked over, screwed, and left with nothing after devoting their lives to a man and or family, and to finally have the law recognize them and say, “Yes, you do deserve something…this is not right legally “, You would think that women would not attempt to stand in the way of another human being recognized legally as part of a couple, or life long relationship. The Right to be on the health insurance…The Life Insurance… To have a legal right to joint assets, and property. To be recognized in a custody battle, and so many other legalities…women surprise me more than any protesters, because they know what it’s like to be screwed by a lack of laws protecting them.

The bottom line is, what you believe in the privacy of your Church, does not make you, or your religion right in the eyes of what the law is supposed to be. The two have nothing to do with each other. You can’t make people go away, just because you don’t want to see them. Every citizen in America has a right to live, and exist in America with equal rights…. not just the people you agree with, or have the kind of relationship your religion says they should have.

Grow up people and use all that religious self righteousness to help the poor, the uneducated, starving. sick, elderly, and homeless children. Those are things that need Christian help.

If the law truly followed religion , this land would still be ruled by Natives, and Blacks would still be in Africa, and we would never had slavery, womens suffrage, war, segregation, and racism, As a Matter of fact, We wouldn’t even be here, because our “Christian” beliefs would not have allowed us to rape a pillage people in order to annex land.

Boy, Religion sure gets convenient when it needs to be.
